Tiger Woods recalls worry for mom after 2005 London terror attack
On Tuesday, Tiger Woods recalled his frightened reaction to the London terror bombings from 2005.
A week after the United Kingdom observed the 10-year anniversary since the coordinated attacks that killed 52 people, Woods was asked about what he thought during a moment of silence to remember the victims.
"For me, personally, I was more thankful than anything else because my mom [Kultida] was in the building right across the street from where the bomb blew up," Woods said.
"I was very thankful that my mom is still here. It very easily could have been pretty tragic for me personally. I can only imagine everyone else who was involved, where they lost a loved one or had loved ones hurt, what they might have been going through."
Seven days after the attacks, Woods began a successful quest to win a second British Open at St. Andrews, taking his second Claret Jug that Sunday by five shots over Colin Montgomerie.
